In high school. Tamika worked at the Chicago Field Museum during summers and weekends. It was here where her love for science began. She worked with the non-for-profit organization. “Project Exploration”, which was a program that took a fun approach to the field of science and aimed at servicing lower income families. After high school, Tamika attended Jarvis Christian College and graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis in micropaleontology. Her studies included several national expeditions in search of fossils and sample collections. She has completed fieldwork projects in Alaska, Montana. and Wyoming. Tamika is aware of the shift in public school’s philosophy and the increasing demand in S.T.E.A.M. related careers. She believes Introducing hands-on S.T.E.A.M. activities during the early stages of life is vital to a child’s learning foundation. Her motto is, “Changing the face of childcare.” Along with educational activities and science experiments, she provides a loving and safe environment for every child in her care. She is married to her husband and real estate expert, Rodney Ayers. Together, they have 3 daughters: Emori, Eva and Ensley.
